Christian Education
A large variety of educational programs are offered to all of our members. Susan Ivy has the job of coordinating these programs. Susan has a BA of Music Education from Texas State University and is certified by PCUSA as an Associate Christian Educator.
Pre-School and Elementary
Pre-school and elementary children meet with caring teachers who help them explore their faith by teaching them the stories of the Bible and how to use the Bible through enjoyable activities, music, art, and take-home sheets that help them share what they have learned.
Vacation Bible School
This year's Vacation Bible School will be from June 9-15, from 9-noon daily. The theme will be a "Beach Party!" Lots of volunteers are needed, and Jennifer Gately (626-6754) can match you with a party opening you're sure to enjoy. Enrollment details will be available later.
Jr. High & Sr. High
For 6th to 12th graders Sunday School offers an opportunity to study God's word through study on Sunday morning and fellowship activities in the evening. Check the Youth website in the drop-down menu under "programs" above for up-to-date information.
Adult Sunday School
Each year, a wide variety of adult classes are offered. Currently, the following classes are held:
Ragamuffin is a book-study group.
Serendipity and Present Word are doing Bible studies.
Cheers interprets current events with The Wired Word.
Travelers Class shares the spirituality found in the witty Traveling Mercies.
iMarriage is a new informal discussion group for youngish couples, led by Logan and Lerrin (Biggers) Dietel.
The "One-Year Bible" will be the focus of a new class led by Doug Williams
Three times per year the Inquirer's Class meets to inform visitors, new members, and others interested about the Presbyterian faith and our Church in particular
Mid-Week Bible Studies
Rev. Lynda Dinsdale is currently conducting a DISCIPLE II class. We try to offer a DISCIPLE class each year. Rev. Ken Peters leads a Christian Classics class, which reads and discusses great devotional literature from the 1st Century to the present.
Both Rev. Peters and Rev. Joe Turner lead Bible studies at various times during the year. At present, Rev. Turner is leading a class on the best-selling What Paul Meant, by Garry Wills, in the Conference Room from 11 to noon on Tuesdays through May 6th. These are the earliest Christian writings, and anyone who stops in will learn a lot.
